Why this site exists
pmos-pcos.com is an independent project. It was launched in May 2026, shortly after the official international renaming of PCOS to PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome), announced by the Endocrine Society.
The idea is simple: many people affected by this syndrome experience long diagnostic delays, appointments that feel too short, the sense of not being heard, and an overwhelming number of miracle promises online. Our goal is to offer a clear, source-backed companion that helps you understand, track your symptoms, and arrive prepared for your appointment.
What we do
- Explain the PCOS → PMOS renaming with official public sources.
- Offer a non-diagnostic appointment preparation tool.
- Generate a printable PDF to bring to your appointment.
- Maintain a transparent sources page, citing the Endocrine Society, WHO, NIH, NHS, and the international 2023 guideline.
What we do not do
- No diagnosis. Only a healthcare professional can diagnose, based on clinical, laboratory, and sometimes imaging assessment.
- No personalised treatment recommendations.
- No sale of supplements, coaching, or “anti-PCOS” programmes. We believe these offerings undermine trust in online health information.
- No promises of natural cures or “reversing” the syndrome.
Editorial policy
Every important page is dated (publication and last update). Medical claims are sourced to public peer-reviewed publications or official institutions. The tone is deliberately clear, warm, direct, and non-judgemental.
We plan to submit our pillar pages for review by healthcare professionals (gynaecologist, endocrinologist, midwife, registered dietitian). The identity of reviewers and date of review will be published on the relevant pages once completed.
Correction policy
If you notice a factual error, an outdated source, or wording that feels judgemental or imprecise, we correct it promptly. A record of major changes is noted at the bottom of the relevant pages.
To contact us: a contact address will be published in the next version of the site.
Conflicts of interest
This project currently has no financial relationship with any pharmaceutical company, supplement manufacturer, teleconsultation platform, or health coaching programme. If this site were to introduce monetisation (premium newsletter, recommended books, partnerships), it will be explicitly disclosed on this page.
Personal data
The tools on this site calculate locally in your browser. No health data is sent to a server by default. See our privacy policy for details.
